Uninstall PowerShell 1.0 from Windows Server 2008

To install SharePoint 2010, I had to install the prerequisite PowerShell 2.0.  To do this, I needed to uninstall PowerShell 1.0, which came as part of a service pack to Server 2008, not as a stand-alone install.  I was reading blogs, knowledge base articles, and searching google like crazy, but everything was telling me to do it from Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs (or Programs and Features).  I finally found the simple way to do it on the Server OS.

Open Server Manager and browse to Features

Notice Windows PowerShell is in the list?  You get where I’m going.  Just click Remove Features and uncheck the Windows PowerShell box.  You can now install SharePoint 2010’s prerequisites.

P.S. This is actually documented, and I actually found it.  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb808917.aspx
